ICNA CSJ Starts Printed Newsletter for Muslim Prisons

CNA CSJ with LinkOutside as a partner has started sending printed newsletters by hiring former incarcerated Muslims as writers. They prepare the newsletter and we send them to over 2k+ incarcerated Muslim brothers and sisters around the country. We just did our first batch and received the following reply from one of the brothers behind bars:

"Shukran for the newsletter from the joint venture of Link Outside and ICNA council for social justice. I enjoyed all of the contents of the letter. I had just began to make a conscious effort to memorize surah AL BALAD a couple of days before I got your newsletter. It was very inspiring to say the least. I have been incarcerated from July 1995 until the present day. I am scheduled for release sep.2026. What exactly can we do from inside of here to assist you? I am open and available.

My mission is to make amends to society. I teach classes as well as facilitate groups for an inmate designed program called 'M.E.N. of INFLUENCE.(Motivate Educate Nurture). A self improvement/pre release program for inmates. I am currently facilitating a group for Victim Impact. My life here becomes more meaningful when I am working to make a difference in the life of others. I am very interested in the spiritual development course. Please let me know how I can be of service to call of the Deen." -Abduz Zahir bin BARNEY
