Eid Mubarak from the ICNA CSJ Family

This Eid, Remember Them.

Assalam Alaykum ICNA CSJ Supporter

Eid Mubarak! The blessed month of Ramadan has come and gone, and while we are saddened by its departure, Allah has blessed us with a festival to celebrate the accomplishments we’ve worked so hard for. Eid is about family, community, our Muslim brothers and sisters that are by our sides and in our hearts. It is about desserts, delicious meals, and cultural practices. Most importantly, it is about thanks to Allah for the opportunities we’ve been awarded and the privileges we hold.

This Ramadan, remember those that do not have the privilege of safety and security the way that you do. Your brothers and sisters behind bars, to whom you have sent 20,000 packages, they cannot partake in Eid Festivities the way you can. Neither can your brothers and sisters in Palestine, who are under occupation by the apartheid state of Israel. Neither can your brothers and sisters in Kashmir, who are sacrificing their lives to gain freedom from the Indian occupation. Neither can your brothers and sisters in India, living in a threat of genocide under the rule of a government run by the Hindu nationalist party. Neither can your undocumented brothers and sisters, who may pray side by side with you, but hold a burden in their hearts that is too heavy to bear. Nor can those fleeing wars across the world, or those living in abject poverty abroad or here at home.

This Eid, while you thank Allah for allowing you the privilege of Ramadan, of festivities, of safety and security, pray for them, and ask that Allah relieve them of their struggles. Pray for peace, and justice, pray for the oppressed and downtrodden. Remember them as you donate to the organizations you know and love, whether it be towards the Muslim Prisoner Support Project, sending packages of Islamic materials to prisons across the country, or to our advocacy efforts, as we help to amplify Muslim voices in politics.

As always, you can visit our website to learn more about our work.

On behalf of our team, enjoy your Eid with your families and alongside your communities. We are so excited to see you during eid prayers, and Eid festivals across the country.

Sincerely,

The ICNA CSJ Team.
