Two Years Since August 5, 2019: Rally, Webinar, and Take Action for Kashmir

Indian Embassy Officials Refused to Receive the Memorandum on Kashmir

Officials at the Indian Embassy refused to receive the memorandum that ICNA CSJ, World Kashmir Awareness Forum, and USMCO presented to them regarding the valley of Kashmir and how India violates humans rights within the valley.

A news article was also published regarding this matter, you can read the article by clicking here.

The memorandum reads:

"We, Americans of diverse background are deeply concerned by the current political and human rights crisis in Kashmir and in particular the last two years when the Government of India abrogated Article 370 and 35A. Although the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been under Indian military occupation since October 1947, the changes that took place within the past two years have pushed the people to the brink of extinction....."

Webinar on Kashmir on August 8, 12:00 PM (EST)

On Aug 5, 2019, the Modi regime snatched away what little was left of the freedoms of the people of Kashmir. But the relentless struggle for self-determination wages on. The Modi Government abrogated Articles 370 and 35-A that guaranteed the autonomous status of the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir. Over 100.000 civilians have died, 10,000 people have been disappeared. civic and political life is critically suppressed, a forced demographic change is ongoing---Kashmir is on a genocide watch. The crisis requires the attention of the world powers to avert a potential nuclear catastrophe

Join us for a special webinar this Sunday on the background and the current situation in Kashmir explain by prominent scholars and leaders

Rally for Kashmir

Yesterday, on August 5, two years since India removed article 370, ICNA CSJ organized a rally/protest in front of the Indian Embassy in Washington DC. Here are a couple of pictures from the protest.

Ask Congress to Stand up for Kashmir

It’s been two years

Two years since the abrogation of amendment 370 of India’s constitution.

For two years, the once autonomous states of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their autonomy.

Let’s call it what it is- an occupation.

The Indian Military is occupying the once autonomous regions of Jammu and Kashmir and over the past 2 years has imposed a cruel communications blackout, torture, violence, and heavy militarization of the area.

To make matters worse, a nationalist campaign called Hindutva is responsible for the Indian government’s further disenfranchisement of the Muslim majority state.

For the past 2 years, Kashmiri’s have suffered in darkness, and the whole world has been watching in horror.
