Dear ICNA CSJ Supporter,
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has resulted in countless casualties, displaced individuals, and a humanitarian crisis that cannot be ignored. The United States Congress has the power to influence this situation through the passage of H.Res. 786 (118th).
This resolution calls for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine, promoting peace and stability in the region. This is paramount for the safety of both Israelis and Palestinians without further escalation. An immediate ceasefire will allow for the negotiation of the immediate and safe return of all hostages, the ongoing delivery of essential humanitarian aid, and the end of Israeli forces’ retaliation.
The passage of H.Res. 786 would send a powerful message from one of the world's most influential nations:
- Violence is not an acceptable means to resolve disputes.
- Innocent lives should not be lost due to political disagreements.
- Lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, understanding, respect for human rights, international law adherence.
As concerned citizens who value human life above all else, we urge you to let your voice be heard by signing this petition and contacting your representative in Congress today. We must insist our Reps pass H.Res. 786 immediately as a step towards ending this devastating conflict.
We urge you to let your representative know where you stand on this important issue.
